Creative and Expressive Arts Therapy:
These are a range of therapeutic approaches that intersect with psychology and the creative arts (art, drama, dance/movement, expressive writing, poetry, and music) to enhance personal growth and healing. It is an approach that is booth supportive and highly effective, specifically for those who do not respond only to traditional psychotherapy.
Experiential Therapies:
These are therapies that go beyond talk therapy: This includes drama therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, poetry/narrative therapy, Gestalt, somatic movement, and mindfulness
These focus on the immediate experience of emotions and self-expression that may be difficult to express verbally connecting past to current feelings. It helps individuals to build coping skills and learn to manage emotions and circumstances.
Relational Therapy:
Relational therapy is a type of talk therapy that is based on self-awareness and the impact of relationships on mental and emotional well-being. It focuses on the importance of connection, social contexts, and cultural factors in shaping a personal experiences and identities. By exploring past and present relationships, this is a helpful approach to understanding patterns in thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to develop and foster healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
